Rapid Response Fund Myanmar (RRFM) Project

Project Description
  • The Locally Led Humanitarian Response Project in Rakhine, supported by the Rapid Response Fund Myanmar, provided emergency cash and protection assistance to 254 displaced households (1,034 people) in Northern Rakhine from November 2025 to February 2026.
  • The project responded to urgent needs caused by conflict, airstrikes, movement restrictions, and severe resource shortages, while promoting dignity, local leadership, and community resilience.
Project Objectives
  • Lifesaving Financial Support: Deliver urgent cash assistance to enable displaced families to access food and essential protection services. 
  • Strengthened Protection: Establish robust safety audits and feedback mechanisms to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of all humanitarian activities. 
  • Risk Mitigation: Provide life-saving Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) to communities living in conflict-affected zones.
  • Accountable Assistance: Empower affected populations by providing training on Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and transparent communication channels.
Key Achievements
  • Successfully distributed lifesaving cash assistance to 241 IDP households in targeted areas. 
  • Conducted community safety audits and transit walks with 54 participants to identify and reduce protection risks.
  • Delivered EORE awareness sessions and educational pamphlets to 241 beneficiaries in mine-affected areas.
  • Completed AAP/CFRM training for project staff and volunteers to strengthen accountable aid delivery and feedback management.
  • Promoted inclusion and participation of diverse ethnic communities, while prioritizing persons with disabilities and women-headed households.
